About Us
Soul Journeys is the inspiration of Amanda Woolridge and Sandi Murphy who met in 2005 when Amanda was teaching Body Balance and Sandi was teaching yoga at a local gym. Both women have plenty in common – passionate about wellness, happiness, yoga, work life balance, spirituality, helping others and creating a better world.
Sandi’s Soul Journey
“My journey began right here in Queenstown. I was so fortunate to have ‘grown up’ in this paradise for the soul.
Inquisitive at age 18 about the world ‘out there’ I travelled abroad, visiting many of the worlds soul spots and living for periods of time in Canada, London, Scotland and Australia before returning home full circle to Queenstown.
During that time I completed qualifications in Theatre and Film Acting Performance, Massage therapy and Yoga Teaching. I’m the owner of the Nadi Wellness Centre, a mum with two children, a yoga educator and a creative. I spend my days fulfilling commitments and juggling multiple roles, in a constant dance between everyone else’s needs and my own.
I love the opportunity to retreat even if it’s just my daily ritual of soaking into a candlelit lavender bath. Retreating from the ‘busyness’ allows me to reconnect and reaffirm my values. I am able to find again the river or flow in my life, it allows me to surrender to its current, slowing down or anchoring in the present moment. This ‘time out’ nurtures me deeply and brings a feeling of well-being.
I am excited to share the wisdom I have gathered from my own life’s experiences and trust that those who come on our retreats will gather the tools and treasures to support themselves as they journey onward with greater peace and happiness.”
Amanda’s Soul Journey
“I came to Queenstown as a backpacker, having left corporate London as a burnt-out Executive.
I was on a Soul Journey, looking to find myself, reconnect with my values and work out what I really wanted to do when I grow up and I remember setting foot on the South Island of NZ thinking ‘this is the most beautiful place on earth, I’m going to stick around for a while’. I arrived in Queenstown and never left.
That was 1992 and since that time I’ve soaked up qualifications in psychology, coaching, Myers-Briggs and FIRO-B personality instruments, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and yoga. I understand the juggling act of being a mother and running a business, whilst trying to create time to look after myself. I must say, I love it here.
Queenstown’s strapline is ‘pure inspiration’ and I agree. There’s an energy about the nature here that draws you inwards to reflect on what’s important. It’s the perfect place to reconnect with and renew yourself. I know it from experience and I’m excited about the opportunity of helping others do this when they come on retreat.”
“We look forward to the opportunity of guiding you, as your soul journeys”
